Missing Coffee

Ahhh, I can almost smell it brewing just thinking about it...a delicious cup of coffee.  Anyone who knows me is familiar with my love of coffee.  Dark Roast, Light Roast, Church Lady Coffee, Cafeteria Coffee, Drive Up Window Coffee, Instant Coffee, Blended Coffee Drinks, in desperate moments Waiting Room Coffee...you get the picture.  I love it all, so you can just about imagine how my world came crashing down when my nutritionist told me that I should try to eliminate it from my daily routine.  Three weeks into my new lifestyle and I have only had 3 cups of coffee which I think makes me a success, but it hasn't been without incident.  The first week was tough.  I had no motivation to get out of bed as I usually used the coffee as a bribe.  Also, every morning around 10am I could almost count on a headache like an icepick behind the eyes.  People's voices seemed louder and more annoying than usual and the water just wasn't cutting it.  Week two wasn't much better, and now that I am coasting into week 3 I need a plan.  I have tried using tea as a coffee replacement, but after a cup or two it reminds me of the dirty washcloth in the sink that starts to smell all metaly and I just can't do it.  So, here I am, asking all of you for coffee replacement ideas.  I have tried decaf, but it is a slippery slope on the way back to regular and I just don't trust myself. Send me your favorite decaf, non calorie beverages.

Val...I might try the hot water with lemon. I have been drinking a lot of Crystal Light the last few days. Getting my fill of artificial sweetener. :)
